Work In Progress

Finally, some work in progress to share.

You might remember seeing this:

Here's what I've done with it:

This is still a work in progress and has no quiltng or embellishment yet. I am also considering whether I need to bring some lighter elements into the lower left corner, more small yellow triangles perhaps. I'm thinking I need to repeat that element somewhere.

As you can probably tell, this is a combination of hand painted and commercial fabric. I had a great time painting the fabric, this time using Setacolor, Dynaflo and fabric ink.

Next will be the threadwork...

This is lovely. I particularly like the silhouette of the trees against the beautiful painted sky. I think you could repeat the yellow triangles below or not--the yellow fabric in bottom picks up the yellow well already.
It must feel great to be back at work.

Very nice, Jen! I like the tree silhouettes, too, and think the fun you were having comes through in the piece.

I really like these colors. It looks like there's a fire in forest. I'm really drawn to those subterranean layers.

This is great, Jen. It comes across as very emotional to me; there is lots of movement.

I love that sketch. I like what you have done in the fabric, too. I think you should do a little series with different color schemes. I'm happy to see you ae working. Hope you are feeling great today!

That is just gorgeous. It looks like a forest fire to me, also, with a band of quiet water. I like the colors just the way they are and will love seeing the embellishments. Good to have you back and creating again. Coddle yourself.
