WIP Wednesday

I haven't really dropped off the face of the planet, it just seems that way if you've stopped by my blog lately. Here are a couple of quilt projects I have in the works. The patriotic quilt is part of the "40 quilt service project" and will be sent to Walter Reid for a female soldier. I'm still working out what to do for the border. The backing is a whimsical floral fabric in red, white and blue. I'll post pictures of both sides when I get it finished.

Here is a spring quilt I'm assembling. At my last quilt group gathering, this was the group project. We all brought fabric to trade, although I chose to plan mine using an all green background and contrasting brights.

Last Saturday I joined in on a "girl's night out". We had delicious food at Panda Inn and saw the "Menopause the Musical" at the Lyceum in Horton Plaza. It was a wonderful evening spent laughing with friends.

Cool quilts =-) I especially like the flowers. I need to get into a group again, it can be so inspiring and I am easily led into projets that I otherwise would not have done.

isn't our weather and all the green hillsides and flowers gorgeous right now?? I'm loving it...

Good to see you again!

Love the flower blocks - Got your comment on my blog about the centerpiece, but couldn't respond to you directly. I believe it came from an old issue of Woman's World so some magazine like that.

Great flowers. Love the batics and the colours. A great inspiration - perhaps sometimes in my kitchen!?! :-)))
How do you applique the leaves?

Those flowers looked like they were fun to do and I do like the green background instead of the usual lighter neutrals!

I like the way those flower blocks alternate the tall and shorter flower.

The patriotic quilt is lovely. I look forward to seeing it finished. The flowers are so beautiful. I've been meaning to make a bullseye quilt once I get my UFOs settled down.
