This red fabric is sooo yummy! I wish I was better at painting fabric. Dyeings about all I can manage. Maybe I shoudl give it another shot. Did you prefer the stretched fabric or the scrunched fabric technique? How many colors did you use?
Lisa, I don't know if I have a preference, but the results from each method are different. In what I have done so far, the color is more intense in the stretched fabric, but the scrunched makes really interesting background patterns. With practice I think you can control it better. I think painting is in some ways easier than dyeing, but you are creating a very small amount of fabric, under 1/2 yard, at a time. Oh, and you use the BACK side of it since the front can be a little crusty with paint and salt. Jen
