January Afternoon, California style

One day last week, I took a warm afternoon off from work and spent the time painting fabric. This time I used Dyna-Flo dye paint from Dharma, and not only are the colors wonderfully bright, the fabric hand is still soft. Not sure, but these may find their way into the journal quilt this month.

Wow! I've never tried Dynaflow but those are gorgeous! Oh boy, another fabric dyeing experience I want to have. . .

Gorgeous! I have an "Exciter Pack" from Dynaflo - 2.5 oz. little bottles in 9 colors - that I bought to experiment with but still have not gotten around to it. You've just provided the motivation to try them out; you've got some wonderful pieces to work with!

Beautiful fabric! Stop bragging about your S.CA weather!! We had a nice day today, but not that warm.

I am going to have to do some fabric dyeing; those are so brilliant and happy. Our weather was not that nice today, but I did get to see a herd of big horn sheep while driving up the canyon to Westcliffe with DH this afternoon. He invites me to go with him on some of his jobs in interesting places. Quite a bit of snow on the ground up that high. "California dreamin'"

Wow. they are all lovely, but I am totally drawn to the one on the left. The green and the purple with that wonderful mix of yellow in the middle is just stunning.

I agree with everyone...those pieces of fabric are beautiful and will be lots of fun to incorporate into your journal. What kind of fabric are they done on?

These are gorgeous, and I really envy you your weather! Even when the sun was out here, it still felt cold and dismal!

beautiful pieces. love the colors. I like the same one that Mary M. likes. I have signed up for a fabric dyeing class in March and can't wait.

Fran, I got to see big horn sheep while backpacking in Aravaipa Canyon in SE AZ one time - and in Rocky Mountain National Park. Awesome!
