Thank You!

What a terrific, supportive group you all are! I am trying to get some email messages sent, but I want to say here that you are all much appreciated. I feel very encouraged and loved, and that's a really nice feeling. The medicine I started at the end of last week is knocking the stuffing out of me, but mentally and spiritually I feel pretty good. I am told I will adjust some to the side effects (nausea, exhaustion, feeling a little spacey.) I hope so. I was a little disappointed to find out that another side effect is weight gain because, you know, I am so svelte to begin with. (NOT) Just a quick word and I will move on from the big C topic. I want to give you a couple of links to check out:

We had a really busy and fun weekend, a surprise birthday party and huge family gathering for one of DHs brothers, and a nice dinner out with another group. I decided to stay home from work today and so far it's been very nice. I took the girls (dogs) up the hill for an early morning walk and just enjoyed the fresh air and the smell of the coming rain. The forecast says we are in for a BIG storm, which is actually a good thing because everything is so dry around here. I saw some gorgeous wildflowers in bloom too, probably from the little bit of rain we had last week. It is amazing to me how little moisture it takes in a dry climate to bring out color.

This afternoon I am off to my workroom to make some postcards. The due date for a little swap I am in is, let's see, tomorrow. Nothing like waiting until the last minute! If I get rolling, I'll make some to donate too.

I just had to take a moment to post and say how sorry I am that you have been having a rough go of it, lately. It sounds as though you are in good hands and I am trusting that all of this will sort itself out and you'll be on top of this in no time. I loved your butterfly bush quilt. I was especially fascinated by the method you used. Very effective and it made me think of your health issues- you'll be that butterfly, soon. Lastly, and this is going to sound odd, but I'm thinking there was some sort of cosmic event last week causing insomnia! What do you think? In visiting other people's blogs I've noticed this trend... or maybe we're all connected, somehow. Well, I slept great the same night you did- Thursday. Just thought it odd. Not that we don't have plenty on our minds to keep us up! Hoping you're adjusting to the meds and sleeping well!

The storm raged through here yesterday, it wasn't as big as they predicted. Pretty strong winds, but not a lot of rain.

I'm loving your positive attitude my friend. You are a STAR!

http://www.coldfeetquilter.com/page/page/2854155.htm Dear Jen, Thanks for your note on my page. I've placed a link at the front here to a butterfly quilt on my web page. The butterfly was done with freemotion thread play, 1st black then touches of white on orange lame'fabric. The butterfly always makes me think of change & resurrection... Sorry to hear what you're going through. It seems that life these days is always being touched by cancer. My husband had it (by the way, is DH for Dear Husband?), his was prostate, my sister had breast cancer, & so did my sister-in-law & best friend from childhood (both who we lost 2 years ago already). & my dearest quilting friend Kathy, who is coming to visit Mar. 9th from Mich.had a terrible bowel ca.that her Dr said she would likely not survive, so she went to Mayo Clinic in Minn. That was 8 years ago. She is still Cancer-free! When she called me to tell me, I told her it is NOT a death sentence. You can fight this, & win, & she did, & I bet so will you. So as I go today to care for folks coming out of surgery I will think of you & say prayers for you. Like your quilt turned out so beautifully, I bet so will you.

Jen, I just read your posts about cancer. I hope your treatment goes as well and quickly as possible! You seem to have a good attitude about it, and I'm sure that will help tremendously.

Jen, I'm sorry to be so slow in responding to your health news. I've been thinking about you, wishing I had something to say that would help. But all I can come up with is that I care; that I'm sorry; and that I am genuinely confident this is just a stumbling block in your journey. How good you have such a loving partner beside you.
